Astoria and Cannon Beach Oregon, πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜€πŸ“·πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Astoria is a cute little town at the border between Oregon and Washington states. It sits at the Columbia river confluence in the Pacific Ocean.

The town is a wonderful weekend destination in the Pacific North West. The Town is rich in Pioneer history. Here you will find the Lewis and Clark National Historical Park.

In Downtown Astoria the Flavell House Museum is a must see. This was Captain Flavel house preserved in its original state. Just across the street you can see the Oregon Film Museum, that was used in the movie The Goonies as a set for the prison. Liberty theatre is also worth a visit. Astoria has a great microbrewery scene for the people interested in craft beer.

While visiting a climb to the Astoria Column is a must do. Up there the view is quite remarkable.

About 45 minutes south of Astoria you will find the town of Cannon Beach, famous for the long sandy beaches with huge rock formation sticking out of the ocean. Cannon Beach is really popular with surfers due to the huge waves of the Pacific Ocean.
