My Favorite Cities I Visited So Far

Are you wondering about the travelers’ favorite cities to visit? I traveled quite extensively in my life and it is difficult for me to pick the best places that I visited. If I have to come up with a list I think these are my top picks:

Favorite City Number 1 Hong Kong

I was incredibly fascinated by this city. It is alive all the time, night and day. It offers incredible shopping, incredible food, and stunning views. I genuinely enjoyed getting lost in the many streets of this city. Every corner has something different to offer. Hong Kong is a fantastic mix of Asian and Western cultures. The British Colonial past is still visible in many buildings and some architectural landmarks. This city was the gateway to our Asian adventure, and it was the first city I visited in Asia. Maybe this is the reason why I was so deeply fascinated by this incredible city.

Number 2 Paris

What not to like about Paris. The city is beautiful. The food is incredible. The vibe is stunning. The city has some iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Arc the Triomphe, the Louvre Museum, etc. but there is so much more to explore in Paris. Every corner of this city is a postcard. Most importantly is the incredible vibe that this city has.

I have visited all the main tourist attractions of Paris in the past. Nowadays, when I go, I just love to walk around the streets, grab some lunch in a cafe, or simply enjoy getting lost in the city.

Number 3 Venice

Venice is just unique. There are many other cities in the world with canals that claim to the Venice of “this and that” but nothing is like the real Venice. Every palace on the Grand Canal is unique. Each bridge is beautiful; the churches are stunning. I just love this city. Venice is at its best outside of the tourist season. In the winter, when the streets are quiet, and the canals are not incredibly busy with tourists. I love walking in the little narrow road of Venice and soaking up the fantastic architecture that this city has to offer.

Favorite City Number 4 – Singapore

Singapore is a beautiful modern city with a touch of colonial past. This modern city is incredibly clean and safe. People are very friendly. The food is impressive, and shopping is fantastic. The scorching heat might be a bit much at times. We loved exploring this city and taking thousands of photos. I particularly enjoyed the Chinatown and Little India areas. It was overwhelming to soak up all the fantastic sight, smells, and noise that this city has to offer.

Number 5 Florence

Florence is the birthplace of the renaissance and the capital of Tuscany. Every building in downtown Florence is a  reminder of Florence’s glorious past. Walking in Florence is like walking in an open-air museum. But the city is not just about history. It is incredibly alive. We love to walk in the San Lorenzo market and taste all the great products available. Sipping an espresso in one of the leading historical coffee shops in the city is something that we can’t miss. Another favorite thing of mine is to shop for stationery in the many stores near Ponte Vecchio. Experiencing Food in Florence is a fantastic experience, noting beat a great porchetta sandwich with a glass of Tuscan wine.

Number 6 Barcelona

Barcelona is a city that never sleeps. The streets are alive with people all the time. It has the perfect combination of old, in the Gothic downtown, and beginning of the 20th century Gaudi architecture. Barcelona is one of the leading cruise hubs in Europe, and practically every Mediterranean cruise starts, end, or stops here. For this reason, the city can be busy with tourists in the summer during the cruise season.

The city is huge, but it has a fantastic public transit system. The city center, however, is very easy to walk and explore. I particularly enjoy the area around the Gothic Cathedral. I love the many narrow streets lined with great little restaurants and coffee shops. The food is excellent, and no trip to this great city is completed without a stop at the Boqueria.

Favorite City Number 7 – Rome

Rome is the Eternal City. First of all, it is always an experience being able to walk in a city that is so rich in history. Walking in the same places where Caesar walked, or the Pope of the renaissance walked is an overwhelming experience. Lastly, I love to explore less touristy areas of the city, such as the narrow streets of the Jewish Ghetto, or the serene park of Villa Borghese. The famous tourist landmark of the city, like the Colosseum, the Pantheon, or the Trevi fountain, are always busy with tourists. Still, they are also some of the most magnificent monuments were made by humanity.

Number 8 San Francisco

In my opinion, San Francisco is the most beautiful city in the United States. The ocean, the Golden Gate, the warm climate makes this city pretty spectacular. I love walking around in Chinatown or Fisherman Wharf, grabbing some lunch with the view of the bay and Alcatraz. The city has a wonderful attitude, and it is always busy with people. On top of that, San Franciso offers so many opportunities to explore, take photos, and soak up the vibe that the city has to offer. Lastly, this incredible city also has fantastic parks like the Golden Gate Park and the Presidio.

Number 9 Tokyo

When we decided to visit Tokyo, I wasn’t expecting much out of the city. However, I was so wrong! First of all, The city is quite beautiful. Secondly, every area of the town has a unique characteristic that makes it fun and exciting. My favorite areas are the Asakusa and the Sensō-Ji Temple, with its incredible traditional Japanese feeling. Thirdly I also loved the downtown area around the Imperial Palace. In conclusion, I felt that I did not have enough time in this incredible city, and I want to go back and explore more.

Favorite City Number 10 Vancouver BC Canada

I lived in this great city for many years, and I think it is as beautiful as it was the first time I saw it. The majestic mountains reflecting in the Pacific Ocean are incredibly beautiful. The city has impressive diversity and some delicious Asian Food. Even though it is a significant and busy city, you can still find a little tranquil area to relax and look at the ocean. In the summer the city is at its best. The beaches are beautiful and always packed with people. The sunsets from English Bay are picture-perfect. I simply loved living here, and I consider Vancouver my second home town.
