The Okanagan Region in British Columbia is a great area to explore. It is famous for its wines, in particular the British Columbia Ice wine, made with grapes let freeze on the vines, picked an crushed frozen. This kind of wine it is sweet and fruity and it is excellent with sharp cheese and desserts.
The main center of the area is Kelowna, but most winery are south of that in the Penticton and Oliver. The area has many pristine lakes and rolling hills with beautiful rows of vines.
The area is particularly beautiful in the summer, that is really arm with very long days. The fall is quite beautiful a well when the vines trees turn red and the grapes are ready to be picked. The best wines of the area are the German style white wines, but some of the reds are pretty remarkable too.
